A man was taken to the hospital this morning after officials say he was bitten by a snake in a wooded area of Fayette County.
Officials say a 39-year-old man from Trafford was riding in a pick-up truck with his family off of Casparis Road in Connellsville Township just before he was bitten.
He was with his wife, son and two others were reportedly riding in the bed of the truck.
Authorities say the vehicle became stuck in some mud, and the man was bitten after moving a rock to use to try to free the truck.
The man was bitten on his right wrist and it became swollen, officials said.
It is feared that the snake may have been poisonous.
The group was able to call for help on a cell phone.
The man was rushed to a hospital in Pittsburgh for treatment.
