A Border Security Force (BSF) trooper deployed in a Maoist-hit pocket of Chhattisgarh died of snake bite Friday, an official said.
Rajendra Saini, 26, who belonged to Rajasthan, was posted with a BSF battalion in the state’s Kanker district. He died after a snake bit him at a forested Pakhanjoor area, close to the BSF camp, Alexender Kiro, of the Pakhanjoor police station, told IANS.
He said the trooper was rushed to a local government hospital where he died within an hour.
