CLINTON TWP. — Twice within a week snapping turtles crossing the roadways of Clinton Township prompted motorists to telephone police to assist them in crossing the roadways without getting struck, or causing a road hazard.
The first call was for Route 31 at the intersection of Route 78. The latest call was on Wednesday, June 2. Sgt. Thomas DeRosa responded to Allerton Road near the Patrick McGaheran School.
Though reluctant, both the reptiles needed a little coaxing by police to safely reach their destinations
