Neosho, Mo. —
On Thursday afternoon, a woman came out of a local eatery and opened her car door to find two snakes on her floorboard.
Neosho Animal Control Officer Bryan Williams responded to Subway at approximately 2:30 p.m. Thursday. One snake had crawled up the dash and the other had headed into the engine block.
The woman, who lives in the country, believed she may have brought the snakes into town with her. Both black snakes were between 5-feet or 6-feet-long. The snakes were relocated out by Crowder College.
As the weather warms, snakes look for cool, dry places like vehicles and homes, Williams noted.
“This time of year we do start to see them come out more and more,” Williams said.
