Apparently the saga continues at the Seaway Serpentarium. I spoke about the issue with Bry Loyst from the Indian River Reptile Zoo today. I was
informed that the animals are NOT in fact getting the proper care. Some in fact are getting virtually no care. There are animals with maggots on
them, rodents running around the building and if thats not bad enough the Sheetrock is crumbling and mold is growing all over. The water was
not filled in the Alligator enclosure causing the animal to be stuck in wet conditions for 20 days as the water level was not high enough for it to get
to an area to bask, as if it could bask anyway as its only being provided 1 spot light for a ten foot animal to bask under. “Its not a question
of possession, we don’t care who gets the animals so long as they are getting proper care” Bry said in our interview. It would appear the Humane
Society of Canada has absolutely no idea what they area doing and a complete lack of respect or regard for wildlife which is what their job
is suppose to be in the first place. Its time for our community to step up and demand that these animals be put under the proper care and
supervision of professionals like they should have been from the start. I am including a gallery below of the conditions of just some of the
animals currently being left to die in the building. Look at them and let your passion take over. Get ahold of the Humane Society at the info below
and demand these animals get the care they need.
