A Rock Hill man was hit in the head with a four-foot long python being used as a weapon by another man, police said.
Tony Smith, 29, of 1920 Corwin Drive, Rock Hill was charged with assault and battery after an altercation at the Executive Inn on North Anderson Road, according to a Rock Hill police report.
The victim, a 47-year-old Rock Hill man, told police he and his wife and his neighbor were standing on the balcony in front of a room at the inn just before 11 p.m. Tuesday when a man carrying a large snake approached them, the report said.
The man than hit the victim in the face with the snake’s head and walked away.
The victim told police he had exchanged words with the snake-carrying man when he asked him to turn music down in his room the night before, the report said.
Officers found Smith on the second-floor balcony of the inn with the python in his arms, the report said. He was arrested, and the snake was released to a family member.
