Darwin Police locked up a crocodile last night after a 19-year-old turned up at the Palmerston Police Station brandishing a half-metre-long saltwater crocodile.
The man walked into the police station about 9:00pm and told officers he had picked the reptile up from Marlow Lagoon, a nearby recreational reserve.
Police say markings on the animal show it may be from a crocodile farm.
Officers kept the reptile in the cells until Parks and Wildlife staff collected it.
