The Sweetwater round up activities are well underway. David Sager has been a snake handler for years and says people just need to understand snakes. “Our whole roundup is about teaching people to live with the rattlesnakes,” he said. Sager has one very important rule he follows: “Never take your eyes off the snake while you’re working with them.” The rattlesnake roundup will be March 10-13.
A quote directly from the website of the round up is “The snakes are executed away from public eyes. But they are skinned in full view. A Chinese woman offered the Sweetwater Jaycees (they run the Rattlesnake Roundup as well as the skinning and frying) one dollar per snake gall bladder. To be used in some medicinal concoction believed by some to be as useful as Viagra. ” To visit the site and read more click the link below.
