The bus was parked at Grey St in South Brisbane when the driver found a metre-long coastal carpet python on board.
Snake handler Geoff Jacobs from Queensland Wildlife Solutions removed the snake, which was sitting on the back seat of the bus.
“It was just sitting there on the bus, no problem at all,” he said.
“It’s possible he could have climbed on board . . . [but] I think that somebody has taken it on board and left it there.”
Mr Jacobs said snakes are very prevalent this time of year, even in the inner city.
