The rural community of Gingin is rallying behind the family of Michael Thorpe who died after being bitten by a snake last week.
Police say 43-year-old Mr Thorpe was bitten on the toe by a baby Tiger snake as he was sitting at his computer inside his home on Friday.
Mr Thorpe leaves behind his long term partner Tanya and six-year-old daughter Jana.
The Manager of the Gingin Hotel Peter Sayer says many of the town’s residents and business people will get together to pay tribute to Mr Thorpe tonight.
“Just a bit of a get together and a bit of a tribute for Michael and his family and we’re going to run a few raffles and the community businesses have got behind us really well and hopefully we can just put a bit of money into a trust fund for Tanya and Jana to help them along.”
