The organizers of a Des Moines pet rescue says they’ve reached their goal, but they’re still looking for help to stay open.
The Iowa Reptile Rescue is holding a bake sale, indoor rummage sale and gift wrapping table at Southridge Mall this weekend.
The rescue opened more than two years ago. Due to financial issues though, they’ve fallen behind on bills and needed to raise
Saturday they say they’ve raised the needed funds any additional money will go toward future rent and the $850 filing fee for their non-profit license.
Robin Argo, the owner of the Reptile Rescue said, “Once we secure the amount for the 501C for the non profit, we’ll be able to file that, and then once that’s approved we’ll be able to get grants which will make it so the rescue can run even better than it does now.”
The sale runs Sunday from noon until 5:00 p.m.
If you can’t make it and would still like to donate, you can go to the shelter’s website iowareptilerescue.com.
