I’m A Celebrity crewmembers have apparently had to extract 30 snakes from the celebrity camp ahead of this series’s launch.
It was recently reported that torrential rainfall in and around the Australian camp site has led to an influx of serpents, including “some of the most deadly snakes in the world”.
According to The Sun, program staff have now removed 30 of the snakes – including a 16ft boa constrictor – but fear that there is a similar number still left in the camp.
Show medic Dr Bob McCarron said: “It’s a bumper year for snakes. There are now so many we have stopped catching them.”
I’m A Celebrity begins this Sunday night at 9pm on ITV1.
