More than 20 far north Queensland tourism operators have been honoured at an industry awards celebration.
Cairns wildlife park Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures won the major tourist attraction award at the Tourism Tropical North Queensland Awards on Saturday night.
The Daintree Discovery Centre won the eco-tourism award and Jungle Surfing Canopy Tours, at Cape Tribulation, won the best adventure tourism award.
Opera in the Outback, at Undara, west of Cairns, won the festival and events category.
Australian Tourist Publications, which produces magazines promoting attractions in the far north, was inducted into the hall of fame.
The company publishes twice-yearly magazines about Cairns, Port Douglas and the Atherton Tablelands, as well as central Australia and Darwin.
