A snake caught a Massachusetts man and his roommate off guard when it slithered through the ceiling into their Allston apartment.
It began when he saw something small dangling from the ceiling.
“I take one step closer to it – the thing shoots out. Boom! Shoots straight out. So I’m thinking to myself, ‘There’s a snake in my house, in my ceiling, coming to get me.'” Padraic O’Connor, who found the snake inside his bedroom, said.
O’Connor then called his roommate for help.
“I was just gonna hit it with an ax or something, but it was a boa constrictor,” said Ed Oliveira, the roommate.
“We tilt this up and it comes down, Ed grabs him, lightly and gently,” said O’Connor.
“Very manly like, I just grabbed its body and scooped it down into the Tupperware,” said Oliveira.
It turns out it was a ball python. A tenant from that Everett Street house lost a python six months ago and then moved out.
O’Connor never knew a thing about it until that surprised visitor, Harrison, dropped in. The snake was named after Harrison Ford, who played Indiana Jones, famous for his fear of snakes – a fear O’Connor said he shares.
O’Connor and his roommate gave the snake to their neighbors, who said they would reach out to the old tenant.
