TIGARD, Ore. — A Tigard homeowner and his fianceé said they found a dead snake wrapped around their furnace Wednesday afternoon.Andy Narver said the snake, which appeared to be a boa constrictor, was discovered when a repair worker took apart the furnace because it was not correctly heating the house.“Apparently it (the snake) had been dead for years,” Narver said. The repair man moved snake to the trash.Narver and his fiancée had just moved in — Wednesday marked their first night in the home.Family members stated their distaste for the reptile.“I don’t like snakes at all. They’re disgusting,” said Narver’s sister, Heidi Narver, who did her best to stay away from the trash can where the snake was.Narver said after finding a snake, his cat, Roy Munson, got stuck inside a fireplace.“Roy is not physically fit. I’d say he’s probably on the heavy side and he got down there somehow,” he said.Soon after, police, firefighters and animal control officers helped pull the cat to safety.Firefighters said Thursday that they normally do not respond to calls of cats stuck in trees or chimneys.
