WHAT: Pet Amnesty Day is not about a good dog gone bad. It’s about folks turning in unwanted, non-native exotic pets to authorities — without penalty or questioning. Gatorland and the Florida Wildlife Commission will take in “species of concern,” including non-native reptiles, amphibians, birds, fish, mammals and invertebrates. It’s illegal to release a non-native animal into the wild.
Domestic animals such as dogs, cats and ferrets will not be accepted. For more information about non-native species, go to myFWC.com/nonnatives.
WHEN: 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday.
WHERE: 14501 S. Orange Blossom Trail, Orlando (south parking-lot entrance)
