CHICAGO – It’s not often you see an alligator in the Chicago River, but one of the reptiles was spotted there.
A three-foot-long gator was spotted Thursday afternoon and Animal Control workers tried to pull it out of the water.
But the gator was quick and got away.
The workers outsmarted the gator, setting a trap for it.
The gator was caught overnight.
It’s believed the gator was someone’s pet and was let go when it got too big.
Officials are figuring out what to do with the animal.
