WINNEBAGO COUNTY (WREX) – Drivers on Bypass 20 stop to see a snake that ended up on the road.
The snake appears to have been run over by a car and slightly injured, but is expected to be okay. It was along the side of the road when police, Winnebago County Animal Services officers, and a few people driving by stopped to help it.
The snake was in the road near Meridian around 9:00 a.m.
Winnebago County Animal Services has the snake now and is hoping to find its owner. If they don’t it could end up at the Brookfield Zoo near Chicago.
