Awesome snake! I like gophers a lot. My local pet shop had a nice sized one in not too long ago and it gave me a good bite on the wrist, but the attitude and personality just draws me to them more

They do have feisty attitudes but can tame down nicely as well. You CANT buy them here but they are native here so I get the pleasure of seeing them in my back yard. The 2 that I have are wild caught.

It could reach that and more. Bulls, Pines, and Gophers easily reach 6' and surpass that quite frequently. A guy in my area has a bull snake that is almost 10'. That's a really big one but 7'-8' isnt all that uncommon

You are correct, I don't know what I was thinking but I just checked my math and its actually about 83" Adults range from 5-7 feet in length although a 7 foot individual would be extremely rare in the wild.
