We talked a little about the plight of the Philippine Crocodiles being the most endangered in the world. Well they jumped on the conservation bandwagon faster than any country I have ever seen. Today they released 19 Baby Crocodiles into the wild that have been raised in captivity for the last 18 months. Now the trick is to see if they survive. I think many of us all over the world could learn a thing or 2 of the outstanding response to this problem.

Philippine crocodile nearly extinct
According to the world conservation union the Philippine crocodile will be extinct in 10 years if conservation efforts dont start immediate. It is said that the critical endangered Crocodile numbers at only about 100 animals in the wild. Currently it is the most endangered Cocodilian in the world and the law prohibits hunting, killing, selling, and buying of the species. Violators are fined P100,000.
All girl snake rescue? Me like!
Thought to be WA’s only all girl snake rescue teem Allison Dixon and Wendy Jackson love educating people about what to do when they come across a snake. And whats better is they dont accept any money for what they do. Any money donated is in turn donated to WA Seabird Rescue. Check out the whole story.
In to the Amazon, the GIANT Anaconda
Apparently Mike & Greg Warner, from the Warner Amazon Expedition will be in a documentary called Into the Amazon. There expedition is being done to prove the existence of the giant anacondas. The interviewed just about every tribe they found and not only to the stories all match up but also support the data and theories. 8 foot Python found dead
Another Python has been found but this one dead in S. Carolina. Apparently the manager of a car wash found the body while making a check of the property. He claims to at first think it was just a snake skin but shortly there after realized it was the real deal. The Department of Natural resources believe its an escaped pet released pet and says people should remember this story when considering a Pet Python.
Chicago Herpetological Society 18th Annual ReptileFest
The Chicago Herpetological Society will host its 18th annual ReptileFest at the University of Illinois Chicago Physical Education Building on April 9 and 10. This family-friendly educational event will include hundreds of snakes, lizards and much more, and will take place between 10 AM and 5 PM on both days. Admission to mingle with the cold-blooded collection of creatures is priced at $10 for adults and $7 for children ages 3 to 11.
