I you internet crime people thought you were safe think again. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission since the beginning of January has been using Craigs list, posing as interested buyers to bust people not following their animal laws. Keep in mind even if you are not violating Florida laws it is agents the TOS to sell animals on CL anyway.

Thats one high gater
Police in Los Lunas report that while answering a call at a home for a domestic dispute they found several pot plants as well as processed pot in bags. While working the scene they heard a noise behind some boxes and were informed it was the womans pet 2 foot Alligator. She was promptly arrested and charged with possession of marijuana plants, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. The alligator was turned over to Los Lunas Animal Control.
Reptile News: PETA is a domestic terror organization
PETA up the creek
Well I am sure many of you have already heard the story about the Arizona restaurant serving Lion tacos. I know its not reptile related but we all hate PETA the same so I could not help but share it. According the the owners of the restaurant they have received 20-30 direct threats and hundreds of indirect threats by people, most of which claim to be PETA supporters or members. Some people are even calling for an investigation into weather or not PETA is involved. According to the 1970 RICO act if they are found to be part of the threats they can be prosecuted as a domestic terror organization which is oh so sweet sounding to my ears. DOWN WITH PETA I say. But what do you think?
Authorities raid home and take snakes
This is a story that will become all to common to us if PETA and the HSUS get their way with banning exotic snakes as pets. A home in Cleveland was raided and 20 Pythons, some measuring 15 feet in length were taken from the home. It is not legal to have exotic snakes in Cleavland without a permit and authorities say no one at the home had one so they walked in and took everything. It boggles my mind why an organization with the name “Animal Protection League” would take the snakes from a home where they were being cared for properly knowing and stating that they do not have the facilities nor do the zoos have the facilities to care for the snakes so they will dump them off at serpintariums around the area.
Crocodile found in luggage
A dead crocodile was found in a plane passenger’s luggage at an airport in Poland.
The three foot stuffed reptile was discovered by customs officials in Warsaw who were conducting a routine bag search.
Under European Union (EU) law it is illegal to transport the remains of protected species without official paperwork.
But the 19 year old who was travelling from Vietnam to the Ukraine with the dead animal insists he didn’t break any law because he was in transit from and to countries outside EU jurisdiction.
One customs officer said: “Prosecutors are deciding if any laws were breached and if they weren’t he can have his crocodile back. It seems a lot of trouble for something that is very nearly luggage itself.”
Snake killer walks away do to laws foul up
Well some of you may remember Keven Kibble who was accused of killing a snake do to neglect. Yep that’s right he has walked away because prosecutors attempted to charge him under the wrong law and the judge determined that he “unintentionally – rather than deliberately – omitted to provide adequate care” No word yet if they will retry the case.
