So yes the title and picture for this blog post are of great significants. Today the wheels are turning in the office. I have some great ideas for DRN yet have another project in the works as well. Both of these are major projects and I am racking my brain at how to get them both done without having one cut into the other and or hurt the final goal. I have never been one for multi tasking, in fact I am somewhat obsessive compulsive with some topics which leads to a little ADD when dealing with them, in other words I can dwell on one part so much that the other parts never get completed. Then after everything I am left with a project that is ether half done and never public or one that is public but did not have 100% put into it, both of which are bad things to end up with. I am sure its just a matter of scheduling and time management but to follow is what I would like to start doing with DRN,
First I would love to keep doing videos 3 days per week but as I explained in my last video on the subject, I just don’t think that is realistic. Next I would love to start writing for the website again, the problem here is I am not a good writer but I am not sure if that helps or hurts the goal as doing something is always better than doing nothing. Basically with the plan I want to put in place it would include keeping the 3 day per week video schedule, writing news for the website again as well as posting daily links to original stories as I did yesterday.
I do know that one HUGE thing I spend time on during the day is on social networks and keeping a close eye on stats, I probably check stats 4 times per hours and on a normal day in the office probably spend 6 hours on the social networks. I absolutely love communicating with people in this hobby but I think managing my time on the networks would go a long way to helping with a little extra time to grow DRN into the power house that it COULD be in the reptile world.
I have screwed with the schedule so many times over the past year its not even funny. In the online free media world doing this would normally be the death of an idea, I have learned that people want to know exactly when and where they can see you and if that changes to much they just move away. The fact that DRN is still building a very string following speak volumes, trust me I have taken notice at how dedicated some of you guys are and it is that dedication that pushes me further and further off the edge of sanity and makes me want to really do something with this.
While I would love nothing more than to create a thriving business with DRN I must be very careful and keep in mind that this all started as a hobby for me, the production of shows and reptiles was like putting 2 loves together to create the ultimate orgasm if you will. I always had dreams but never imagined things would grow this big. Just in the past year things have started exploding, DRN is not the money pit that it once was and is actually slowly but surly bringing in money now.
I am really hoping some day DRN, you and myself can make a lasting impression on the reptile community and help pave the way for a prosperous and fun filled future for the members of the community.

We Had an absolutely great time at this years Sacramento Reptile Show. It seems like this show just gets better and better every year. The Venomous display had us in awe most of the visit. All the animals and people were just top notch and I am super proud to call them all friends. We met a few DRN viewers at the show which was awesome albeit a strange thing to get use to but get use to it I must if this is the game I am playing. I can not wait for next years show and to see what the promoters will do to top this one. I recommend everyone make this a “must attend” show every year. The only thing I think that would make it better is if it was more than once per year.
Its that time of year again. The Sacramento reptile show is rolling into Sacramento California to amaze thousands of people with thousands of reptiles. Last year when we attended this show for the first time in a long time I was way set back at how it had grown, we were greeted with 80,000 square feet of reptile awesomeness. This year the promoter has told me it will be even better. The Venomous display at this years show is suppose to be just crazy and the speaker line up is awesome. The feeling at this show is just indescribable, there are so many people and so much going on that its just ridiculously impossible to take it all in. I 100% urge everyone who can to attend this show, see some sweet animals and meet some awesome people. You will not be disappointed.
You will not often see negative articles in our newsletters, but every now and again we are forced to make a stand, and to speak out about what we know is for the better good for all involved. This is one such instance. We can no longer stand back and watch to see what will happen. I think that it is past time to publicly expose the real agenda of the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) and their cohorts in crime, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), and the animal rights agenda.
For many years we have all enjoyed the companionship of our dogs and other animals. We have been busy playing with them, taking care of them, finding fun things that we could do with them, and generally just having a great time with all the animals that live in our houses. While we have been enjoying the love and fun that our animals provide to us, there have been groups out there organizing on a grand scale trying to get our rights to own those animals taken away. Yes, that is exactly what I meant. Make no mistake about it. These people have organized on a large scale to infiltrate many major city councils and governments in the country to spread their propaganda. Their agenda is easily defined and simple. Their main objective is to take away your right to own animals. They do not want you to have the companionship of any animal, whether that is a dog, cat, horse, mouse, frog, fish or any other animal that you can think of. They are pooling their resources to get this accomplished, and have millions of dollars in their war chest for this effort.
This is a statement made by Ingrid Newkirk, the President of PETA: “I don’t use the word ‘pet.’ I think it’s speciesist language. I prefer ‘companion animal.’ For one thing, we would no longer allow breeding. People could not create different breeds. There would be no pet shops. If people had companion animals in their homes, those animals would have to be refugees from the animal shelters and the streets. You would have a protective relationship with them just as you would with an orphaned child. But as the surplus of cats and dogs (artificially engineered by centuries of forced breeding) declined, eventually companion animals would be phased out, and we would return to a more symbiotic relationship – enjoyment at a distance.” — The Harper’s Forum Book, Jack Hitt, ed., 1989, p.223.
It is interesting that Ms. Newkirk used the word “speciesist”. Allwords.com defines that word as follows:
1. The discrimination against, and exploitation of, animals by humans in the belief that humans are superior to all other species of animals and can therefore justify putting them to their own use.
One of the animal rights mantras is that all animals are created to be equal to all humans, and should have the same rights as humans.
Just in case it still isn’t clear to you what their agenda is, here are a few more quotes from Ingrid Newkirk:
“One day, we would like an end to pet shops and the breeding of animals. [Dogs] would pursue their natural lives in the wild … they would have full lives, not wasting at home for someone to come home in the evening and pet them and then sit there and watch TV.”
— The Chicago Daily Herald, 3/1/90
“In the end, I think it would be lovely if we stopped this whole notion of pets altogether.” — Newsday, 2/21/88
Who is Ingrid Newkirk, and why should we care what she has to say about anything? In the 1970s, Newkirk worked for Montgomery County (Maryland), and then for the District of Columbia, as an animal protection officer and deputy sheriff, before becoming DC’s first female Poundmaster in 1978. She co-founded PETA in 1980 with established animal-rights activist Alex Pacheco. (1) PETA stands for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, but in my opinion, there is nothing ethical in what they do.
Ms. Newkirk has very close ties with several groups identified by the FBI as known terrorists groups, such as Animal Liberation Front (ALF). The animal rights groups are very well organized, and when you check closely, you will see many of the same names sitting on the boards of these radical groups. They are intertwined and closely linked through their finances, and the work that they do.
PETA operates on an annual budget of $ 29,000,000. Most of this is from donations made by ordinary citizens that don’t know the real work of PETA. Many people think that they are out to save the lives of animals after seeing all of their ads on TV and in the newspapers. That is why millions are donated to them each year.
