Got the gator.
The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department says a 5 1/2-foot alligator spotted in a Dallas pond has been captured and moved to a farm.
Game warden David Bosecker says it took about two hours to wrangle the large reptile before it was trapped Thursday night. The alligator, which was first noticed Wednesday, was taken to a farm in Van Zandt County.
Officials say they do not know how the alligator found its way to the pond, but they think it traveled from nearby marshes and the area surrounding the Trinity River.
Bosecker says the gator could have ventured to the pond during the winter or spring.
