An alligator that has made its home in a Myrtle Beach retention pond near Coastal Grand Mall is raising concerns among employees of a nearby store.
Workers at the Cartridge World store say the approximately six-foot long alligator has become aggressive toward them, chasing after one man when he got too close.
But the men say they sympathize with the animal, which they say has been provoked by people who stop to take pictures of the alligator or try to feed it. The employees say they’ve seen people throwing items at the reptile and swinging at it with broomsticks.
